Teaching Without a Lesson Plan

LE Mongolia

Last week, I made 1 lesson plan and repeated it for the rest of the week. Everything went by smoothly.

But what happens when things do not go according to plan?Image

This week, I wanted my students to take a practice test in class. I also wanted them to do read and summarize current events. I intended for them to bring over the articles they were supposed to print out for homework and have them switch, read, and summarize the articles. After that, I wanted to give them the lyrics to Bruno Mars’ song Treasure and underlined some key words for them to look up (and yes, I will have a new song every week).

I typed up my handouts and send them to Enky so that he can print out copies for the class. Now, my whole lesson plan depends on these handouts. No handouts = no lesson plan.
