Review: Free ESL Practice at ABOUT.com

Shafollo (Success & Happiness)

Check out the resources at http://esl.about.com

I, personally, consider this site to be a great resource for English as a second language learners.

It provides lesson plans for new English learners on three different proficiency levels- beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced.

In addition to that, it has some amazing practice to develop your speaking and listening skills. It has some quizzes on vocabulary as well as grammar that you can definitely try out.

Finally, it has a business English section, which contains materials for  adult English education  with specific purposes including Business, commercial, financial, legal, insurance and human resources sectors as well as help with resumes, job interviews and cover letters.

(Final words of caution: About.com website can be really confusing because it floods its pages with multiple ads that looks like useful materials. Well, that’s how they make money)

So, do you have your TESOL or TEFL endorsement? Also, where are you currently teaching? Mexico I suppose. There is a lot of content here.

      Hi Stacey.
Yes I have both TESOL and TESOL certificates – why do you ask?
And yes, I’m in Mexico – where are you?

Sorry it has been so long. I was living in Costa Rica for a month. I am back in the United States now…Colorado.
