Chilean President Sebastian Pinera is at the center of controversy after calling a pregnant 11 year-old rape victim as “brave and mature” for opting against an abortion. Chile is in the middle of a fierce battle to legalize abortion in instances of rape. In Bolivia, tensions are still running high despite the OAS calling a special session to address last week’s incident involving the diversion of President Evo Morales’ plane. Just yesterday Morales called Europe a U.S. colony. The Dominican Republic is bracing itself for a stregthening tropical storm Chantal. The government has issued new alerts and precautionary evacuations.  And in Mexico, archaeologists discovered hundreds of prehistoric rock carvings with thousands of images. Experts believe they date back 6,000 years.
